Restoration of Indian Tourist/e-Tourist visa
Keeping in view the improvement in COVID situation in India, the Government of India has relaxed visa and travel restrictions to India. The new norms related to Regular visas and e-Visas are:
1. All Regular (Paper) valid Tourist visas issued before March 2020, except 10-year Tourist Visa, have been restored with immediate effect. Lao nationals are now also eligible for fresh Regular Tourist Visas.
2. e-TouristVisa including e-Business, e-Medical, e-Medical Attendant and e-Conference visa(suspended since March 2020)are being restored with immediate effect to Lao nationals, including issuance of fresh e-Tourist visas.
3. Foreign nationals on Tourist Visa will be permitted to enter India only through designated Sea Immigration Check Posts (ICPs) or Airport ICPs by flights including those under the Vande Bharat Missionor ‘air bubble’ scheme or by any flight as allowed by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) or Ministry of Civil Aviation. In NO case will foreign nationals be allowed to enter through Land border or river routes on Tourist Visa.
4. Visa application for Regular (Paper) visa and eVisacan be filled online (https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/). For regular (paper) visa, print-out of duly filled online Indian Visa Application formis to be submitted along with required documents and fee to the Embassy.
