On 25 January 2018 at the 25th anniversary of the ASEAN-India Summit in New Delhi, the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi announced 1000 fellowships for ASEAN citizens.
The programme provides ASEAN citizens a choice to pursue a PhD at the internationally renowned Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) of their choice.
Applicants can apply online and the selected applicants will get a chance to do PhD with funding at par with their Indian counterparts from the Government of India. The funding includes a monthly stipend and an annual research grant for up to 5 years of their PhD programme.
